Ketogenic & Low-Carb
The ketogenic diet is very low-carbohydrate and high-fat, shifting the body into ketosis so fat becomes the primary fuel. Originally developed for epilepsy, it has evidence in type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and some neurologic conditions. It is not appropriate for everyone — kidney disease, certain metabolic disorders, and a history of disordered eating all warrant a physician first.
